The Henry Big Boy Brass Side Gate is a pistol-caliber lever action that pairs classic western styling with a practical side loading gate. Chambered in .357 Magnum/.38 Special, it lets you top off the tube magazine without dropping the rifle from your shoulder while still offering the traditional removable magazine tube for safe unloading.
A 20" octagon blued steel barrel works with a polished hardened brass receiver, brass barrel band, and brass buttplate. Select American walnut straight-grip stock and forend complete the traditional look. Fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights with diamond insert and a brass bead front sight make target acquisition straightforward, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics. The ten-round tubular magazine, crisp lever action, and transfer bar safety round out a rifle that weighs 8.68 pounds and measures 38.5" overall.

Smooth action. The rifle is more accuate than I am. Seems a little heavy but not horrible.

It’s a Henry
Great rifle so far! The side gate loading as well as the tube loading is nice. The recoil with the 357 magnum is hardly noticeable and the 38 special feels like you’re shooting a 22.
The longer barrel (octagon) is nice for the extra rounds and accuracy and the weight isn’t too bad, if anything it makes the recoil even less.
The brass is great and the regular size lever loop makes quick lever action for this smooth out of the box rifle. The only thing I changed was putting a skinner sight on to replace the semi-buckhorn sights but that’s personal preference.
