FN 509 Tactical

The FN 509 Tactical is a full-size 9mm pistol based on FN's Modular Handgun Trials submission and refined with key design improvements for duty and defensive use. It features a 4.5 inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel with recessed target crown and 1/2x28 threading that accepts most 9mm suppressors, secured by an O-ring thread cap. The patented Low-Profile Optics Mounting System accepts more than ten miniature red dot optics that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights, remaining adaptable without slide milling.

A sight-protecting slide cap includes raised wings to safeguard iron sight alignment and a textured ramp for emergency racking. The polymer frame offers enhanced grip texture, interchangeable backstraps, and a MIL-STD-1913 rail, while fully ambidextrous controls and a loaded chamber indicator support reliable operation. The striker-fired system delivers a 5.5 to 7.7 pound trigger pull, and the polished chamber with feed ramp ensures consistent feeding across ammunition types.

This pistol is well suited for duty, home defense, and tactical training where a threaded barrel, optics readiness, and suppressor-height night sights are required.
